About Carli

Hey! My name is Carli and I am a professional dancer who graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire with a 1st Class BA (Hons) Degree in Contemporary Dance. I have since choreographed and performed for the BBC and Netflix and have toured work to venues across the UK including at the Royal Albert Hall in London. I have trained extensively with companies such as Avant Garde Dance and Company Jinks - each of which has given me a different perspective on strength, flow, rhythm and agility and thus aided my ability to freestyle, perform and choreograph in my own unique way. Allowing performers to find their own stylistic voice is something I feel incredibly passionate about and will endeavour to encourage in each lesson!
I have built up an eclectic stylistic repertoire that includes contemporary, hip hop, commercial and ballet. They are not only the styles I enjoy the most, but also the styles that I have taught substantially over the past four years since graduating. If you're looking to build foundations, or advance in any of these, then I would love to be the one to help! I am a fun, super supportive and empathic teacher who will ensure each lesson leaves you feeling happy, energised, and confident!

About the lesson

Whether you are a total beginner wanting to get into the wonderful world of dance, or already at an advanced level in your training, all I'm looking for are enthusiastic individuals, receptive learners, and people who are eager to advance in their dance journey. If that's you, then I can’t wait to dance with you!

My aim is to provide each student with a tailored programme that suits their own goals, so each session will be catered specifically to you and what you want to get out of it. I am happy to discuss these prior to our first class together so we don't waste any time!
Our sessions can enhance your practice through working on choreography, technique, pick-up, improvisation, and general fitness.

As a qualified Level 2 Gym Instructor and Level 3 Personal Trainer, I am hyper aware of the importance of safe practice, and so regardless of your level, we will always warm up and cool down together. As far as the main bulk of the session goes, I am happy to teach you new choreography to songs you request, work on audition or show pieces, configure a stretching/workout routine, or simply do a technique class in the style of your choice - it's up to you!

Ultimately, I absolutely love dancing, choreographing and teaching and would love to be able to share that same joy with you!

I have had the privilege of seeing Carli's dedication to dance up close for many years. She is not only an incredibly talented performer and choreographer, but also a patient, encouraging and thoughtful teacher.

What stands out most about Carli’s teaching is her ability to make people feel confident while still helping them improve technically. She explains movement clearly, adapts to different levels and brings a really positive energy to every session. Her background across contemporary, hip hop, commercial and ballet gives her a wide range of tools to help students build strong foundations, develop their own style and enjoy the process.

I have seen Carli perform, rehearse and create work in many different settings, and her passion for dance is always obvious. She puts care into everything she does and genuinely wants others to feel empowered through movement. I would highly recommend Carli to anyone looking for a supportive, inspiring and highly skilled dance tutor.
