About Anthony

I am a friendly and hugely experienced composer and teacher. I can guide you through the real-world applications of theory and make it all make sense!

On the production side, I have written and produced music for TV commercials for household brands such as McDonald's, Coca-Cola, British Airways, Alpro, Knorr, Domino's, Birdseye and numerous others. My music and production are heard daily on television and radio worldwide. I have excellent production skills using Logic Pro and can pass on real-world skills to help you with Music Technology, composition and production.

Fully enhanced DBS checked.

About the lesson

Struggling with your Grade 5 music theory or music production?
Let me help you make sense of it all!

Music theory can often seem overwhelming; my lessons carefully untangle the sticking points for students. The lessons are calm and methodical, moving at a pace that means students are clear and confident that they can apply their theory. By the time students sit their Grade 5 theory, I want them to have a depth of understanding that means they are ready for anything the exam throws at them.

Music technology is often seen as a distant relative to theory, but with my forty years of commercial experience, I understand how to convert technology skills into the real-life world of music and creativity.
Using the industry-standard Logic Pro, my lessons cut through the jargon and show musicians how to get results fast.
Lessons are hands-on and tailored to the student.

I can help you improve as a musician, making it an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Lessons are typically up to 1 hour and can be in-person or online

I have a First Class Graduate Diploma (with Distinction) in Jazz and Commercial Music and have a wealth of experience in different music styles. I have taught all ages and abilities from pre-school up to degree level.

Anthony’s music theory lessons have been invaluable to my daughter. They have allowed her to progress with her violin, singing, and music tech without the frustration she used to experience. She is now far more confident playing in her school orchestra, tackling a wider range of music styles often not covered in music grades, and even starting a band with friends. Having a complete understanding of music theory has been such a bonus. Anthony’s teaching has been supportive, encouraging, kind, and patient.

Anthony taught both of our kids piano, from an early age, and he tailored the level of tuition to their own understanding and rate of progress. They both really enjoyed his teaching and looked forward each week to their lesson. Later, Anthony greatly assisted our son to gain entry to the Brit School to study music, through his clear explanation of music theory and its application. I would wholeheartedly recommend Anthony as a tutor.
