About Marguerite
I began piano lessons at 6. My mother explained that I would practice 30 minutes a day. She put a clock on the piano and by sixth grade I was actually playing the piano! I had a wonderful piano teacher in high school who introduced me to Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Chopin. In college and graduate school I majored in piano performance and was allowed to perform piano concertos with the orchestras! I am grateful for my mom’s insistence on daily practice!

I was trained in music education for children by the editors of the Yamaha Music System. They explained that four-year-olds have a 30-second attention span! Teachers, therefore, must change activity every 30 seconds for four-year-olds! I have used the training by the Yamaha editors for 25 years.
