I’ve had the pleasure of taking 22 lessons (and counting!) with Kim as my music production mentor, and he has been an incredible guide in helping me grow as a producer.

What I appreciate most about Kim is his ability to meet you exactly where you are. No question ever feels “dumb,” and his pacing is approachable, which is especially helpful for someone like me who can easily get overwhelmed. He’s always willing to go back over material if it didn’t stick the first time, and he has the knowledge to answer all my “why” questions, which has made every lesson feel meaningful and thorough.

One experience that stands out is learning how to create drum patterns. At first, it felt overly complicated and intimidating, but Kim broke it down in a way that was easy to understand and replicate. By the end of the lesson, I felt confident creating my own patterns, which was a huge turning point in my music production journey.

As a songwriter, I have always found production super intimidating. I had taken classes both online and in person here in LA and always felt overwhelmed. I had written with Kim a few times, and when I saw he was teaching, I decided to give private lessons a try. It has been immensely helpful; he takes songs by artists you are interested in and helps you break them down so you can learn from them. He also patiently explains things and allows you to ask questions and will revisit ideas without judgment when necessary. He has helped me understand what would be involved in creating a track for my own ideas as well as how to work with my voice. I am so happy to be working with Kim and can't recommend him enough if you are looking to expand your production skills in a supportive environment.

Kim is the most insightful and educated producer I know. He has an amazing way of explaining the most complicated techniques in easy-to-understand terms and is always correct in his answers and approach. I have learned more about vocal mixing, general recording, and understanding song structure than I did when I undertook my music degree. He really tailors every lesson to your specific requirements. I was very nervous that I was 'too beginner' when starting lessons with Kim, but he instantly made me feel comfortable and instantly planned out tangible goals for us to work towards. Highly, HIGHLY recommend!!!
