About Gizem

I’m a Product designer with over a decade of experience, driven by a genuine passion for creating intuitive, human-centred digital experiences. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working across industries and with diverse teams, each project enriching my skills and broadening my perspective. I’ve come to see UX design as more than just a technical skill; it’s an approach to problem-solving that directly impacts users’ lives. I want to teach because I’m excited to share what I’ve learned and to help others grow in this dynamic field. Product design is constantly evolving, and I believe that the best way to keep learning myself is by passing on knowledge, answering questions, and guiding others. Teaching allows me to support aspiring designers on their journey, helping them build confidence, develop a critical eye, and succeed in their careers. My goal is to empower my students with the skills and mindset they need to create meaningful, impactful designs and find fulfilment in the world of product design.

About the lesson

Teaching Techniques and Methodology My approach is hands-on and tailored to each student’s learning style and goals. I believe that effective learning involves interactive and engaging lessons, so I use real-world examples, design challenges, and active problem-solving to foster understanding. Each session combines theory with practice: after discussing core concepts, we apply them in real-time, critiquing and iterating on designs to build strong analytical and creative skills. For beginners, I emphasise foundational principles, while for advanced students, we delve into complex topics such as user-centred design and research-based decision-making. Typical Length of a Lesson Each lesson is typically 60-90 minutes, depending on the student’s preference and concentration span. This length allows for a thorough exploration of topics without overwhelming the student and provides time for feedback and refinement of designs or assignments between sessions. Qualifications and Experience as a Tutor With over a decade in UX design, I've worked on projects across various industries, from tech start-ups to established brands, which allows me to bring real-world insights into the lessons. I hold certifications in UX and human-centred design, complemented by extensive experience in design research, prototyping, and usability testing. I have also trained junior designers and conducted UX workshops, so I’m well-versed in both individual coaching and group teaching. Who the Lessons Are For My lessons are suited for high school students, university students, and adult learners interested in UX design. Whether you're a complete beginner, a design student looking to refine your skills, or a professional transitioning into UX, I customise my lessons to meet your unique needs.
