About Johnny
I’m a professional bass player with over 15 years of experience, including performing on seven West End shows in London. Alongside my performance career, I’ve taught at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP), working with degree-level students and future professionals. I bring the same professionalism, energy, and passion for music to my teaching as I do to the stage, helping students of all levels grow in skill and confidence.

- I believe learning music should be fun and engaging and tailored to each student's goals. Do you want to be able to improvise on Jazz Standards, play in a function band, or eventually play professionally on a West End show? My teaching combines practical, ear training and creative exercises to build both strong fundamentals and real-world musicality from my experience in the industry - A typical Zoom lesson lasts 1 hour, though I offer longer sessions for advanced students (eg Jazz Improv etc) - I'm a professional bass player with over 15 years experience including playing on 7 different West End Shows, recording on official releases by Noel Gallagher, Soul II Soul, Claptone and more. I was also formerly a lecturer on the BMus and BA at London's ICMP. - Lessons are for anyone aged 12+ (enthusiastic beginners up to aspiring professionals)
