About Deise
I have been teaching English since 2004. I have always had a passion for languages. I currently study an indigenous language called hixkaryana and develop courses to be used by other teachers, besides giving German classes in a language school in the region and at my place. For three years I had a language school in Santo André, while I was doing academic research, but I decided to return to the classrooms, which is what I really like to do. Over 100 students have passed through my classes ranging from students seeking full courses, preparation for international certificates (TOEFL, GMAT, IELTS, ...) to students who sought to improve aspects of their use of the language such as pronunciation, fluency or accuracy and even For short trips. This variety of courses allowed me to meet many people of different needs and trained me to develop different techniques to assist in cases of learning problems. My students were able to receive job promotions, travel internationally as exchanges, advanced much faster than the normal pace of language schools (when compared to average time spent by students in well-known English-speaking schools in SP) and the best: they felt safe and ready to speak English when and where it was needed!

I use the latest in the foreign language studies: needs analysis and course design. That means each student has a need, an experience, an objective and beliefs about the language they want to learn. I have been developing language courses for almost 10 years and have specialized in Letras / USP in teaching and learning foreign languages (German, English and PLE). No ready or pre-fabricated method is foolproof, everyone needs to be shaped to be more useful to students. Each student undergoes a rigorous assessment of previous content learned in English, a level test developed by the University of Cambridge (UK). After, the student undergoes a pedagogical interview to analyze their experiences, motivations and personal goals. During the first month of class, period of experience, I make a diagnosis of the main difficulties and set the course from there. (Until the first month the student can cancel at any time, only paying the monthly fee for that month, at no additional cost). In general, I use Oxford's American English File material that can be easily customized to the method that is best for my student or student.

If I need to move elsewhere to teach, I charge a different rate due to time and fuel I have to spend. It varies, but usually adds 10,00 BRL to the original hour price.
