About Amina
Hi! I’m really looking forward to meeting you.
One of the things I love most about teaching is seeing students grow in confidence. English and exam preparation can feel tricky or overwhelming at first, and that’s completely normal. My job is to help you break those big challenges down into simple, manageable steps until everything clicks and you realise just how much you’re capable of.
I love how naturally curious students are. Whether we’re preparing for the 11+, strengthening your creative writing, or improving your reading comprehension, I’ll always encourage you to ask questions, think creatively, and enjoy the learning process.
When I’m not teaching, you’ll usually find me reading fiction or exploring great literature. I’ve always loved stories, and my goal is to help you see that English isn’t just about passing exams. It’s about learning how to express your ideas, think critically, and find your own voice.

For over 6 years, I have helped primary students strengthen their English and prepare for some of the UK’s most competitive entry points, including the 11+, Common Entrance, and KS2 SATs. Alongside tutoring, my classroom teaching experience keeps my approach grounded in what works with real children.
Two of my students have earned places at St Swithun’s School in Winchester, while others have secured offers from UK independent schools and achieved excellent results in the 11+ and KS2 SATs. Every child starts from a different place, so my focus is on building the skills, confidence, and exam technique they need to reach their own goals.
I specialise in English, with particular expertise in grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, essay writing, and creative writing. If your child freezes up at a blank page, struggles to organise their ideas, or finds exam pressure overwhelming, that’s exactly where I can help.
How I Teach
Every child learns differently, so every lesson is tailored to the individual. I don’t rely on vague advice like “just read more.” Instead, I teach practical, repeatable techniques that students can apply immediately, including:
• Planning a clear, well-structured essay in five minutes
• Understanding exactly what comprehension questions are really asking
• Building ambitious vocabulary that feels natural in writing
• Writing with greater confidence, clarity, and accuracy under timed conditions
What Sessions Include
• Preparation for the 11+, GL, ISEB, Common Entrance, and KS2 SATs
• Grammar, spelling, punctuation, comprehension, and inference taught systematically
• Creative writing and essay coaching focused on structure, originality, and confidence
• Exam technique, timing strategies, and guided paper practice
• Regular progress updates, personalised homework, and detailed feedback after every lesson
Lessons are taught online using an interactive virtual whiteboard, making sessions engaging, collaborative, and accessible from anywhere.
