Primary and Secondary Maths tutor, based in Liverpool, just qualified as a teacher with QTS

Perfect! As someone returning to education after a long while via an Access to HE course, I struggled with math, finding it very hard to even motivate myself to tackle the assignments thrown at me. Starting my work with Olivia is what ultimately saved my exams, my overall lack of knowledge, and possibly my future chances of getting into a University. To start off, I'm pretty confident that there isn't a lot of tutors with this much patience as Olivia,her way of teaching is just incredibly hard to put into words, as I'm having a hard time even finding a positive synonym that could potentially convey just a fraction of how great of a teacher she really is. The lessons were carried out in a non-judgemental space where I was encouraged to think on my own, preparing me for actually sitting in an exam room where there wont be a single soul asking me helpful questions-that being said whenever i struggled to come up with a way to calculate something Olivia never failed to come to rescue with helpful explenations and hints that allowed me to finally wrap my head around a particular problem. Not only is her way of teaching absolutely amazing, but she's also incredible at noticing progress and guiding on what style of learning you have (previously I was completely clueless to this) and i think that shows the ammount of dedication and care she puts into those lessons and her students-she offered me a lesson on exam skills which i didnt realise were a necessary thing to have-that alone not only saved my maths journey but also positively bled out onto other subjects im currently studying as im able to apply the knowledge onto different things. The accessibility and her patience, as previously mentioned,are admirable. I speak with a quiet, heavy accent and have days when I struggle to form a coherent sentence, and I never had an issue with her understanding me or finding a way for us to communicate and reach a middle ground. She always just understands, even if I gave minimal explanations of what I meant. The overall atmosphere is worth mentioning-I was never pressured into booking more lessons or anything of that sorts,i think its a very important thing to note as the right kind of energy really carries the rest of the lessons and with each one of them i felt very positive and eager to learn-her understanding is also worth mentioning as i did have some technical diffulties on my part and her flexibility and ability to openly communicate really struck me in a good way-i was never once stressed! All in all, absolutely amazing tutor and person, worth every single penny, and honestly, I think tutors like Olivia should be the ones charging a lot more for their time, as you really just get a whole palette of things in the package. Thank you so much, Olivia! Truly the most amazing tutor out there and an absolute math genius!If there is the right person to teach you maths, it is 100% Olivia. 10/10 will definitely book more in the near future!
