About Laureen
I have been teaching for 30+ years in private schools, grades seven through twelve. I am not certified or experienced in SAT tutoring or ESL. However, I have taught many of the classic novels and much of the poetry; my greatest strength is taking the traditional and making it relevant today.

I choose reading from poetry and prose which we work on together in order for you to learn how to annotate in preparation for discussion and essays. In poetry we look at structure and then read line by line in order to see how literary devices are used. These can then be applied to prose and its analysis as well.
