About Luke

Hello my name is Luke and I am a MSc Applied AI postgraduate student at the University of Warwick. I also hold a BSc First Class Honours degree from Warwick in Computer Science, one of the UK's top-ranked programmes for the subject

At A-Level I achieved an A* in Computer Science and know the syllabus inside out across all major exam boards including AQA, OCR and Eduqas. I also achieved grade 9 in GCSE Computer Science so I am equally comfortable working with students at foundation level right through to the most challenging A-Level topics.

Over the past four years I have tutored students at GCSE, A-Level and undergraduate levels and also tutor through Leading Education, one of the UK's leading private tutoring agencies. I am confident teaching programming in Python and Java, algorithms and data structures, computer systems theory, databases and SQL and everything in between.

About the lesson

My lessons are structured and practical, built around exactly what you need whether that is getting to grips with programming for the first time, preparing for a theory exam or working through past papers under timed conditions.

I start with a short diagnostic so I know precisely where you are struggling and can focus the lessons accordingly. Rather than just telling you the answer I work through problems with you step by step so you build the understanding to tackle anything the exam throws at you.

I cover all topics across GCSE and A-Level Computer Science including:
- Programming (Python and Java, including object-oriented programming)
- Algorithms and data structures (sorting, searching, complexity and more)
- Computer systems theory (networks, hardware, logic gates and Boolean algebra)
- Databases and SQL
- Computational thinking and problem solving
- Past paper technique and exam preparation

The first lesson is always free so it is a great opportunity to see if we are a good fit before committing to anything.
