About Devon
I hold a Master's degree in Chemistry from the UK, where I completed my thesis on superparamagnetic nanoparticles for use in brain tumour treatment through magnetic hyperthermia therapy.
I have experience working with students of a wide range of ages, abilities, and academic backgrounds through both online and in-person tutoring. Whether you're struggling with the fundamentals, preparing for important exams, or aiming for top grades, I can adapt my teaching style to suit your individual needs.
Chemistry has always been a subject that fascinates me, and I am passionate about helping students build both confidence and understanding. Chemistry is a lot like a Lego set. Once you understand the basic building blocks, even the most complex topics become much easier to grasp. Many students struggle not because the advanced concepts are too difficult, but because there are small gaps in their foundational knowledge that make it harder to connect everything together.
My teaching approach is methodical, supportive, and proven to work. Rather than simply drilling difficult topics, I focus on identifying and addressing the underlying areas that may be holding a student back. By strengthening these foundations, confidence and understanding naturally grow.
I create a learning environment where mistakes are seen as part of the learning process and where no question is ever considered silly. My lessons are interactive, engaging, and tailored to each student's needs, encouraging curiosity and helping students develop a genuine understanding of chemistry rather than relying on memorisation alone.
