During a lesson, I not only tell my students what they need to learn but I also show them what they will need to be able to do. I incorporate virtual models as well as hands on manipulatives routinely. I believe using instruments is a constructive approach which forms a basis for learning on the abstract level. I engage my students in active learning in hopes to move students from surface knowledge to a deeper level of understanding and try to make real-world connections whenever possible. If a student(s) is not mastering an objective, I approach failure from an amenable standpoint and embrace feedback as a challenge to be solved.
