About Fernando
Hi! I'm Fernando Phillipi, a professional photographer based between Los Angeles and San Diego.
My work ranges from documentary and street photography to surf photography and still photography for film productions. I have published three photography books and exhibited my work in galleries and cultural spaces.

I offer personalized photography lessons for beginners and intermediate photographers who want to improve their technical skills and develop a stronger creative eye.
In our lessons we can cover:
• Camera fundamentals (aperture, shutter speed, ISO)
• Composition and visual storytelling
• Portraits and natural light photography
• Street and documentary photography
• Editing workflow and photo selection
• Developing your personal style
I also love mobile photography and can help you use your phone to create stronger photos and videos for Instagram, Reels, and social media content.
Lessons can be in person (photo walks and practical sessions) or online with feedback and guidance.
My goal is to help you move beyond average photos and start creating images that feel honest, cinematic, and alive.
