About Jack
I am a MA Philosophy graduate and seminar leader. I have worked with Sixth-Form, undergraduate and public audiences on critical thinking and textual analysis. As a Socratic teacher, my aim is to help my students to communicate their ideas with greater clarity, coherence, and integrity.
My experience as a writer is varied. Besides writing various essays and dissertations in humanities subjects, I have also published articles for blogs, websites and magazines on a range of contemporary issues, from education to health and wellbeing.
I'm keen to help students advance their essay writing in preparation for the academic year, so that the transition feels less daunting.

As a Philosophy MA graduate and public seminar leader, I specialise in helping students mature in their essay writing, especially in preparation for an upcoming academic year or entrance exam.
As a seminar leader in philosophy, I offer a uniquely collaborative space where students are encouraged to develop their own ideas and voice. I work to help students clarify how they express themselves in their writing, refine their style, and structure their argument coherently.
We will look at constructing sound arguments, mastering paragraph transitions and overall flow, evaluating information critically, and writing under time pressure. We will also work on analysing and responding to conceptually challenging questions.
Source material for lessons includes real texts, past papers, and student's own drafts.
I am fully available throughout July and August 2026 for flexible online sessions. Whether you want a one-off essay review or a structured summer bootcamp to get a head start on the next academic year, I am happy to accommodate your schedule.
