About Evrim

I am a philosophy researcher with extensive academic experience in teaching, research, and philosophical writing. I hold an MA in Philosophy and am completing my PhD in Philosophy at Royal Holloway, University of London, where I have also taught undergraduate courses in Ethics, Philosophical Methods, and Ancient Philosophy.

I am an Associate Fellow of Advance HE (UK), a professional recognition of my teaching practice in higher education. My research has been published in peer-reviewed academic journals and edited collections, and I have presented papers at more than 20 academic conferences internationally. I have also edited an academic journal special issue and organised numerous philosophical conferences and symposia.

Alongside my academic work, I have professional experience in writing, editing, and translation, which informs my particular emphasis on clarity of expression, logical reasoning, and effective argumentation.

I believe that philosophy should be intellectually challenging but never unnecessarily intimidating. My approach is patient, supportive, and attentive to each student's abilities and ambitions. I aim to create an environment in which students feel comfortable asking questions, testing ideas, and developing their own arguments.

Whether you are preparing for GCSE or A-level examinations, seeking to strengthen your essay-writing skills, or hoping to deepen your understanding of philosophy, I am committed to helping you achieve your academic goals while developing the confidence to think critically and independently.

About the lesson

I offer engaging, academically rigorous philosophy lessons tailored to the needs of GCSE and A-level students. My teaching approach combines clear explanations of complex philosophical ideas with critical discussion, close reading, and structured argumentation. Rather than encouraging students simply to memorise theories, I help them understand the reasoning behind philosophical arguments, evaluate competing perspectives, and develop the confidence to formulate their own positions.

Lessons typically last 60 minutes, although 90-minute sessions can be arranged for more intensive study or exam preparation. Each lesson is adapted to the student's level, examination board, and individual goals, with particular attention to essay writing, logical reasoning, conceptual clarity, and examination techniques.

I hold an MA in Philosophy and am in the final stages of completing my PhD in Philosophy at Royal Holloway, University of London. I have taught undergraduate courses in Ethics, Philosophical Methods, and Ancient Philosophy at Royal Holloway. I am also an Associate Fellow of Advance HE. My academic experience includes publishing peer-reviewed research, editing an academic journal special issue, organising philosophical conferences and symposia, and presenting research at more than 20 international academic conferences.

Whether students are discovering philosophy for the first time, seeking support with challenging topics, or working towards the highest examination grades, I provide a supportive yet intellectually stimulating environment tailored to their needs. My goal is not only to improve academic performance but also to cultivate independent, confident, and genuinely philosophical thinking.
