About George

I am a lifelong academic with a keen interest in engineering education and teaching.

I have been tutoring for 44 years in my spare time after work at the office as I love to transfer my knowledge to the next generation of engineers.

I have taught thousands of students. All of them inform me after their exams about their grades to tell me that they achieved what they expected. Most are high achievers (A and B grades).

My proudest legacy projects are:
1. Southern Water Conveyor Project
2. Nicosia-Limassol Highway Structure
3. South Africa Power Stations
4. South African Railway Embankments

My most interesting hobbies are reading especially historical and political books, travelling having visited several European countries and Middle East namely Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Israel. I am also a nature lover, so I took on a project for the site design and construction of water retaining depots in the beautiful Troodos Mountains of Cyprus.

About the lesson

I am Dr George Alexandrou with a PhD degree in Civil Engineering and 44 years professional experience.

I give lessons to both undergraduate and postgraduate university students and to young Engineers to help them to become Chartered Engineers and M.I.C.E.

I teach Structural Analysis of Civil Engineering Structures, Reinforced Concrete, Steel Design, Timber Design, Engineering Mathematics (including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Differential Equations, and Complex Analysis), Geotechnics, Hydraulics, and Engineering Management.

My motto is: " I MAKE SUBJECTS EASY FOR THE STUDENT TO UNDERSTAND "

I teach at my home in the City of London.

As my father, he is always buried in his books. He is extremely educated and an academic mind. I did Management and I go to him about ANY questions I have regarding this because he is also MBA level. He is always tutoring students from some of the TOP universities including Imperial as well as professionals seeking to complete MICE qualification. I feel that he should receive much more mention/recommendation as he is really top class no doubt. I always receive compliments about my dad being so great and his students come back for more - I visit my parents' house and students tell me how happy they are with him and how they could not achieve top of the class without him! I am a very proud daughter. With over 43 years experience he really should be a University Lecturer!
