About Richard
I am a Doctor of Education, international school principal, published author, and experienced educator with more than a decade of experience supporting students in diverse international school settings. My work has included teaching, assessment, intervention, curriculum development, and helping students strengthen both academic skills and confidence. I understand that math can be frustrating when a concept does not immediately make sense, so I focus on breaking problems into manageable steps and helping students discover strategies that work for them. My goal is to create a supportive, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing as independent learners.

My math lessons are designed for students who want to strengthen their understanding, build confidence, and become more independent problem solvers. I focus on clear explanations, step-by-step strategies, guided practice, and real-world examples so students understand the reasoning behind the math, not just the answer. Lessons can support current schoolwork, review difficult concepts, prepare for assessments, or address specific areas of weakness. I also help students develop organization, study habits, and problem-solving strategies that make math feel more manageable and less stressful.
