About Jack
A philosopher and educator, I've always been drawn to people, to understanding them and making connections.
I've had the opportunity to speak to all kinds of people in a variety of settings. I've discovered that I have a gift for listening to others, being present, and helping them to see themselves and the world around them in a new light.
As an educator, I've understood that growth involves the whole person, not just the intellect. It's also about a person's interests, their past, their hopes and fears. Then you understand what they are searching for and what they are resisting. A purely intellectual approach to learning is missing something critical. The same is true of personal growth.
Every conversation is an encounter a person with a history and with a depth to themselves that they are perhaps not even aware of. Through posing thoughtful questions, I help people uncover this depth and discover solutions that lie deep within themselves and be freed from inner conflict, doubt, and fear.
I'm fully available throughout July and August.

5+ years experience as tutor, 3 years of which as seminar leader for young adults and professionals. 3+ years in project management and as entrepreneur in education.
My method combines my experience as a Socratic educator plus somatic awareness. Socratic means discussion-based and questioning underlying assumptions together. This works well for personal guidance when it is combined with somatic awareness, meaning being more aware to the emotional and affective life of the body.
I'm using my experience in philosophy and teaching to help people reflect with greater depth and clarity about their professional situation, their relationships, and their dreams. I'm also helping people to think and feel differently about their anxieties, fears, sadness, and stresses.
I am not offering clinical therapy, only personal guidance as we explore your situation together. My clients are typically young adults but I have also guided professionals in the middle-to-late stage of their career.
Typical session is 45 minutes to 1 hour. 30 minutes is also possible.
