About Sushma

I have completed my Masters in Computer Science in 2011. I have worked as a classroom teacher for both Primary and Secondary School teaching Mathematics and Computer Science. Later, I worked as an Online Tutor teaching PTE (Pearson Test of English). I am pursuing a Masters in Advanced Computer Science at the University of Leicester.

About the lesson

I love to become a teacher because the job satisfaction in the teaching profession motivates me to teach more effectively and efficiently. Moreover, I feel proud of taking part in the nation’s development and producing young talent. Today's children are tomorrow's citizens; it is the responsibility of a teacher and I will be the person in every students’ life to achieve their goal. The teacher plays an important role in the student's life by transforming a student into a valuable nationalist. For instance, these days, people are attracted to many extracurricular activities. It is very important for a teacher to check if that action is beneficial in the student's life or not, and support them accordingly by converting their free time into a busy schedule. I don't want to expect any rewards from this profession because I feel like the teaching career itself is a reward for me and I love spending time with the students, enlightening them, and enjoying my profession. I have given many seminars and participated in workshops on Computer Science topics; the project during my masters was successful due to my explanation. I am addicted to this profession as I find the position personally satisfying and beneficial to the students I work with. According to me, a teacher should be able to understand the standard of the student and teach accordingly. For example, few students will be naughty and for them, I will switch their excitement into their study by educating them. In other words, I will go to their standards and make the students feel education is very easy rather than being a punishment for them. A teacher will be valued when the teacher works with the student irrespective of time. I not only will be the classroom teacher but also will be a guide to them in every aspect. Even if a slow learner improves by a few marks; the student should be praised and awarded which boosts up one's achievement. In my previous experience, I used to play, educate, and spend time with the students other than our lessons. Then I came to know what are their strengths and weaknesses and would focus on their weakness without disturbing their strengths. I have experience in teaching different age groups. I feel that parents and teachers play a prominent role in a student’s life; however, these days, teachers play a sole role as parents are busy at their work. A teacher should know the abilities of the student and start teaching depending on one’s interests. Maintaining strong and caring relationships with their students is very important for a teacher. Teaching through playing like pretend play is very important for a teacher to follow, I used to not only be connected with the students during classes but also educated them conducting different activities using social media platform. I proudly say that I have good background knowledge of computer science, and this helps me to give an immediate solution with the perfect example for any doubt raised by an inquisitive student. A student should be taught the importance of time and what happens if one loses this precious period, explaining with examples. Students should be punctual not only in terms of education but also in life. I worked as a private volunteer which helped me to learn many aspects. Firstly, I used to interact with the parents to know the standard of their child. We used to conduct educational tours and social service campaigns which helped students to be engaged and improve their competitive skills. Furthermore, during my online tutoring, I have worked for 12 hours which showed my dedication towards my passion. Finally, I am waiting to prove myself once again as a good teacher to help thousands of students to reach their goals.
