About Shameen

Hello! My name is Shameen, and I’m a passionate and patient tutor with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from the University of Ottawa. I’ve spent years helping students strengthen their understanding in STEM subjects and Religion/Philosophy, blending scientific knowledge with critical thinking and ethical reflection. My goal as a tutor is to make learning both meaningful and approachable. I take pride in creating a calm, encouraging environment where students feel confident asking questions and exploring new ideas. Whether it’s mastering complex biological systems, understanding chemistry concepts, or diving into philosophical discussions, I tailor my lessons to suit each student’s unique learning style and academic goals. What sets me apart is my genuine care for my students’ growth — academically and personally. I go beyond textbooks by using real-world examples, interactive explanations, and guided practice to help students not only perform well but also enjoy the process of learning. Students I’ve worked with describe my teaching as clear, motivating, and compassionate. I believe that every learner has the potential to excel when given the right support and mindset, and I’m here to help you reach that potential. If you’re looking for a tutor who brings expertise, empathy, and encouragement to every lesson, I’d be honored to guide you on your academic journey.

About the lesson

As a passionate and dedicated tutor with a Bachelor’s in Health Sciences from the University of Ottawa, I take a personalized and empathetic approach to teaching. I believe that every student learns differently, and my goal is to create an engaging and supportive learning environment that helps them feel confident and capable in their studies.
My teaching methodology focuses on understanding core concepts before moving on to application. I use real-world examples, visual explanations, and interactive exercises to ensure students don’t just memorize information — they truly understand it. I also emphasize critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential for both academic and personal growth.
A typical lesson begins with reviewing key topics from previous sessions, identifying areas of difficulty, and setting clear goals for the day. I then introduce new material in a step-by-step manner, encourage active participation, and end with a brief recap or mini quiz to reinforce understanding.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my blend of academic expertise and genuine care for my students’ progress. Having taught STEM and Religion/Philosophy to both high school and university students, I bring a holistic perspective that connects science with deeper reasoning and ethics — helping students see how their learning applies beyond the classroom.
My lessons are ideal for high school and undergraduate students seeking support in Biology, Chemistry, Health Sciences, Religion, or Philosophy. Whether you need help improving grades, preparing for exams, or strengthening study habits, I tailor each session to your individual goals.
