About Juhaina

Hello! I'm an experienced ESL teacher who is passionate about helping students improve their English reading skills in a fun, supportive, and engaging learning environment.

My lessons focus on phonics, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading fluency, and comprehension. I use interactive activities, visual aids, storytelling, and Total Physical Response (TPR) to make learning easier and more enjoyable, especially for young learners and beginners.

As an English reading tutor, my goal is to help students develop their reading skills while building their confidence in using English. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adjust my teaching approach based on their needs, abilities, and learning pace. I use a variety of teaching methods and techniques, including:
1. Phonics and pronunciation practice to help students recognize letter sounds, blend sounds, and pronounce words correctly.
2. Guided reading to support students as they read passages with my assistance.
3. Vocabulary building to introduce new words and explain their meanings using examples and pictures.
4. Reading comprehension activities to help students identify the main idea, understand details, make predictions, and answer questions.
5. Positive reinforcement to motivate students, acknowledge their progress, and build their confidence.

My lessons follow a structured but flexible approach:
1. Warm-up: Start with greetings, simple questions, or a short activity to help the student feel comfortable.
2. Review: Review previously learned sounds, words, or reading skills.
3. Lesson introduction: Introduce the target sounds, vocabulary, or reading passage.
4. Guided practice: Read together, model correct pronunciation, and help the student with difficult words.
5. Reading comprehension: Ask questions about the text to check the student's understanding.
6. Independent practice: Let the student read or answer questions with less assistance.
7. Feedback and encouragement: Correct mistakes gently, highlight improvements, and summarize what the student has learned.

As an experienced ESL teacher, I use gestures, facial expressions, examples, and simple explanations to make lessons easier to understand. I also pay attention to each student's progress and adjust my techniques when necessary.
