My name is Olude Aderonke, I am a graduate of National Teachers Institute, Kaduna, an educationist, mind builder. Good afternoon my pupils.
Today's lesson is on fraction for basic 5.
We shall learn How to add and subtract fraction.
Before we continue, let us remind ourselves the meaning of fraction.
Fraction is a part of a whole e.g. 1/10 means one part of ten.
We have proper fraction, improper fraction and mixed fraction.
Today, we are going to add fractions.
Examples: 2/5 + 1/5 is what?
Answer:These are fractions with the same denominators. In this type of fraction, we pick one of the denominators and add the numerators, that is 2/5 + 1/5= 2 + 1over 5. The answer will be 3/5.
