About Tim
I have spent many years developing from scratch the skills that make for what I think is good storytelling and I would like to share these skills. In particular, I think that novels and short stories (and even personal essays) can do things that no other artform can do. Above all, I believe that the ability to think through one's feelings and ideas and to communicate them clearly in writing is a hugely powerful skill that can benefit anyone and everyone.

I want to honour what I see before me. My aim is to help writers draw out what is most engaging about their stories. This process might involve work on structure, syntax, grammar, detail, accuracy or all of these elements.
As I am new to this specific teaching format, we can start with a free 45-minute lesson and take it from there.
My qualifications and experience:
- Master of Studies in Creative Writing, University of Oxford
- Bachelor of Arts, University of Melbourne
- Diploma of Education, RMIT
I have written creatively every day for many years and have published my writing in literary journals. I have also edited personal essays by doctors for a medical blog. Following my Dip Ed, I taught for a time as middle school classroom teacher.
My lessons are for all ages and levels.
