About Sophie
1st Year Oxford Biochemistry student. Went to one of leading selective state schools in UK for academic outcomes. Offering tutoring for Chemistry, Maths, Biology for A-levels or Art up to Y12 level.
- Recently, I did my Oxford Biochemistry Interview and was offered a place to study there starting October 2026, hence my confidence in my ability to express my teachings.
- I tutored my friend for architecture interview and they now go to Cambridge. Involves exploring portfolio.
- AS level Art (exam board = EDUQAS) - Grade: A (highest grade) in 2025 summer.
- GCSE results with 9s in English, Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, History, Spanish and Art. Here, I was awarded Top in Year/academic attainment for Physics, Art, Spanish, Maths and History at GCSE level.
- In art, I am most keen on painting (oils, acrylics) as well as pencil. I specialise in portraiture. DM for portfolio. I also enjoy taking photos, particularly focusing on perspectives. I understand the Alevel and GCSE Art syllabus well and what it takes to gain the very best of marks.
- I also have experience tutoring 11+ prior to this where I helped a student secure a place at Kent's Top State School. I also tutored GCSE students.

-constructive feedback and homework (optional) provided.
- support given throughout to help students feel encouraged to answer and really understand concepts.
- For GCSE and A-level Art, it is crucial to know what exactly will get you marks, credit and what is worth doing. I've seen many peers and students get mistaken about the wrong things to spend their time and effort on when this would get you little to no credibility.
- I will work with the student to ensure they work on the correct aspects and tick boxes in the top bands, whilst filling in any empty gaps in their portfolio.
- Not only that, we will work together to ensure we also hone your artistic skill and knowledge and produce pieces of artwork you are truly proud of.
- I am prepared to do a lot of work outside lessons to ensure I come prepared and that we cover enough so that money is not wasted.
- feel free to ask me for my art/portfolio
- small group sessions £20 but for art I recommend 1-1 as each students portfolio is different and focusing on the individual will make the time more worthwhile.

Sophie is a dedicated and mature student whose organizational skills are exemplary. She is social and friendly, accommodating her students and their range of abilities.
I would highly recommend Sophie as a maths tutor! She was incredibly helpful, patient and supportive throughout my GCSE journey for both—maths and further maths—she explained everything clearly to make even the most difficult topics such as matrices easier to understand. Thanks to her guidance and teaching, I achieved a Grade 9 in both maths and further maths. Sophie really helped build my confidence and made a huge difference to my results. I’m so grateful for all her help and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to improve their maths grade!
