About Avery
Smooth resin hitting polished wood creates a distinct, crisp vibration. I provide custom scale and etude sheets for each student to ensure specific technical growth. We focus heavily on posture and hold during the initial phases.
Correct spiccato and staccato bowing techniques follow soon after. My background at the Toronto Faculty of Music informs every technical correction. I enjoy teaching the mechanics of shifting positions.
Vibrato development remains a primary objective for intermediate learners. Scales and arpeggios serve as the foundation for our musical dialogue. Orchestral playing concepts are integrated into your repertoire. Expect a focused session that respects your time.

Playing as a member of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra occupies most of my evenings. Violinist by trade, I balance my performing career with private instruction in Edmonton. I hold a BMus from the Toronto Faculty of Music. It is fulfilling to work with hobbyists alongside performance focused learners.
Over 13 years, I have taught hundreds of students ranging from RCM Grade 1 to Grade 10. My studio environment is calm and structured. I prioritize left hand agility and tone production. You deserve a teacher who knows the professional stage.
