About Gulshan
LYRICAL DRAMATIC SOPRANO GULSHAN AKIN IS AN AZERBAIJANI SOPRANO BORN IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION. THE AZERBAIJANI SOPRANO FROM BAKU HAS COME A LONG WAY SINCE SHE BEGAN HER SINGING CAREER AT THE TENDER AGE OF SIX. SHE PARTICIPATED IN MANY COMPETITIONS, WHEREVER SHE SANG, SHE WON FIRST PRIZE. BY THE AGE OF SEVENTEEN, SHE WAS INTRODUCED TO MUSICAL COMEDY, WHICH ALLOWED HER TO TAKE PART IN SEVERAL MUSICAL PRODUCTIONS; AN EXPERIENCE THAT HAS PROVEN INVALUABLE IN HER CAREER. THERE SHE ENTERED THE BAKU MUSIC ACADEMY IN AZERBAIJAN. DURING THE FIRST YEAR, SHE WAS INVITED TO SING AT PHILHARMONIC CONCERTS, INCLUDING PERFORMANCES ORGANIZED FOR EMBASSIES OF DIFFERENT COUNTRIES. GULSHAN'S FIRST OPERA ROLE WAS IN AIDA, WHERE SHE PERFORMED THE TITLE ROLE AFTER GRADUATING FROM THE CONSERVATORY. HER BIG BREAK CAME WHEN SHE AUDITIONED FOR THE LEAD ROLE IN AIDA. SHE ALSO SANG THE MAIN ROLES AT THE PERFORMANCES LIKE "ALEKO" , "IOLANTA", "LEISIR DAMOUR", LA BOHÈME" AND IN OTHER PERFORMANCES. GULSHAN IS THE FIRST SINGER TO PLAY THE MAIN ROLE IN THE FIRST AZERBAIJANI ROCK OPERA "SINBAD THE EXPLORER" , WHICH PREMIERED ON OCTOBER 27, 2018. HER APPEAL TO INTERNATIONAL COMPOSERS LED TO MANY OF THEM DEDICATING POP OPERA COMPOSITIONS SPECIFICALLY FOR HER VOICE.GULSHAN CURRENTLY LIVES IN LONDON.

I have been teaching singing privately to pupils of all ages and levels for several years, as well as enjoying a busy performance career. I find that being a regular performer myself is very important when imparting knowledge and advice to my students because I want to teach you more than just the mechanics of singing - I want to teach you to be an artist and to express YOUR unique voice and personality. I work on vocal technique, drama and language, and have worked with children, teenagers, and adults - both those hoping to sing professionally and enthusiastic amateurs! Good singing is about solid and healthy vocal technique, a good feeling for music, self-expression and confidence! I would love to work with you to build all of these parts of yourself and to see where your voice takes you.
