About Louise

I am a music teacher currently teaching in a high school near Glasgow.
I have been teaching piano for the last eight years and have experience with complete beginners to more advanced students, with some pupils going on to study music and piano further.

I am very patient, especially with beginners, and I am eager to help you reach your goals with piano!

About the lesson

Everyone has different interests and goals when it comes to learning an instrument, so I keep this in mind when choosing pieces to work on. Some pupils just want to learn their favourite hits and others hope to work their way through graded exam courses such as ABRSM or Trinity, and both of these are possible!

During a typical beginners lesson, we would normally start by looking at some techniques, scales and theory, and spend the remainder of the lesson on one or two short beginner pieces. There are a number of great beginners books that I can recommend, and we can use these during our lessons.

If you already have some experience with piano, we can work through a number of pieces that we choose together. We will also look at technique, scales and theory in a bit more detail.

Video tutorials are available in-between lessons to help you progress.

I never considered myself a musical person until I met Louise and she, step by step, has built my confidence, knowledge and skill with piano. I have found learning to play one of my favourite times of the week and if you’re looking to start as a brand new beginner like me or just wanting some extra practice if you’re already play then Im sure Louise will be a wonderful teacher for you!
