About Claire
I graduated with a first class degree in Music from the University of Hull in 2004, upon which I was also awarded the departmental prize for outstanding musical achievement. I have been teaching singing, flute and music theory for over 12 years, in both schools and privately, and pupils have gone on to achieve sucess in many types of examinations, competitions and auditions. I am principal flute for the Culture:Music Wind orchestra and enjoy performing in concerts and other settings.

I have been studying contemporary flute techniques for a number of years and am passionate in making them accessible for students of all levels. I believe they can enhance traditional playing and encourage students to explore the technique behind them and to experiment with improvisation and finding their own sound. I enjoy helping students to work out what works for them and to work towards their own personal goals.
