About Alexander
Learning Spanish isn't just about grammar or vocabulary. It's about being able to communicate naturally and enjoy using the language.
Whether you're learning for work, regular trips to Spain, to communicate with family or friends, or simply because you've always wanted to speak Spanish, my aim is to help you use the language with confidence in real-life situations.
I'm a native Spanish speaker with more than ten years of teaching experience. Before moving to the UK, I taught at university level for over a decade in different subject areas, working with adult students from a wide range of backgrounds. I now teach Spanish to adult learners at Abingdon & Witney College, alongside private students with different goals and levels of experience.
I've also experienced what it's like to learn another language. I learned Russian, continue to improve my English and have lived in different countries, so I understand both the challenges and the satisfaction that come with learning to communicate in a new language. That experience has shaped the way I teach: with patience, structure and realistic expectations.
I believe people learn best when lessons have a clear purpose, when they feel comfortable asking questions and when they're encouraged to use the language from the beginning. Every lesson is adapted to your goals, your pace and the way you learn best.

No two students are the same, so no two lessons are exactly the same.
Some of my students are professionals who need Spanish for work. Others travel regularly to Spain, have Spanish-speaking family, are planning to move abroad or simply enjoy learning languages. Whatever your reason for learning, lessons are designed around what is most useful for you.
From the first lesson, I'll encourage you to speak Spanish. You don't need to wait until you know every grammar rule before you start communicating. The language develops by using it, and making mistakes is simply part of the process.
Lessons combine conversation, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, listening and reading in a practical way, always focusing on language that you'll actually use outside the classroom.
I value your time. Every lesson has a clear objective and builds on what you've already learned, helping you make steady, lasting progress.
My teaching is based on three principles: communication, confidence and consistency.
