About Jessenia

I'm going to be honest - I have absolutely no teaching experience.

I have no fancy teaching-related college degrees (just a BA in Psych), or certifications.

But I do love to study people.

This means that I have a ton of knowledge on teaching styles and what gets across (and no, it's not the monotone, know-it-alls).

I know how the human brain works and what I can do to help things stick.

And I know Spanish (native, Puerto Rican here). I know how to write it, speak it, and read it. And I can darn sure teach you to hold a conversation further than "How are you liking the weather this morning?"

If that isn't enough to convince you, I have a passion for the language. So much so that I have two toddlers born outside of a Spanish-speaking country that ONLY speak Spanish. And I'm damn proud of it.

About the lesson

Hi, my name is Jessy, and I'm a native Spanish speaker from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico.

And it's my goal to tailor lessons to YOU and your needs. Here's how:

- I design a study plan according to your goals and interests and then I'll run it by you you to make sure you're as excited about learning it as I am about teaching it.

- We'll combine a bunch of listening, reading, and repetition to get you sounding like a native yourself (it may not happen in a month, but rest assured that you'll get there!).

Seriously, I believe that Spanish is going to be right up there with English as the #1 language spoken in the world so you might as well join me in getting a head start!
