About Paz
¡Hola! I am a native Spanish speaker currently living and working in the [Kirkcaldy / Edinburgh] area.
While I am not a formal school teacher, I have experience helping people practise and improve their Spanish in the past, and I have a real knack for it! I decided to start tutoring again because I genuinely enjoy sharing my native language and culture, and it’s a great way to meet people locally while earning a little extra pocket money.
Why choose me as your conversation partner?
I am patient and friendly: I know that speaking a new language out loud can be intimidating. My biggest goal is to make you feel completely comfortable.
Zero pressure: I want you to make mistakes! That is the absolute best way to learn, and I will gently guide you to the right pronunciation or word.
Authentic voice: Because Spanish is my mother tongue, you will learn how the language is actually spoken on the streets, not just how it looks in a textbook.
When I am not working, I enjoy reading, exploring Scotland, watching movies, so we will always have plenty of fun things to chat about. I look forward to helping you build your confidence!

My lessons are all about getting you comfortable speaking real, everyday Spanish. Because I am a native speaker, my main focus is on conversation, improving your pronunciation, and helping you sound natural—not just making you memorise grammar books!
Whether you are learning for an upcoming holiday to Spain or Latin America, trying to improve your listening skills, or want to put what you've learned on language apps into practice, our sessions will be relaxed and fun.
What we will do in our sessions:
Casual Conversation: We will chat about your interests, culture, hobbies, or daily life.
Real-Life Scenarios: We can role-play useful situations (ordering at a restaurant, asking for directions, checking into a hotel).
Native Insights: I will gently correct your pronunciation and teach you the everyday phrases and idioms that native speakers actually use.
I don't use strict textbooks; instead, I adapt to what you want to talk about. It will feel more like having a coffee and a chat with a Spanish-speaking friend!
Location & Setup:
To keep lessons affordable for you, I offer sessions either online via webcam or in person at a cafe near my workplace in Kirkcaldy or Edinburgh (The Gyle).

Details
Location & Setup:
To keep lessons affordable and easy to schedule, I offer online or face-to-face sessions at two specific locations:
Kirkcaldy: Near the main train station.
Edinburgh: At or near The Gyle Shopping Centre.
We can grab a coffee at either of these spots for a relaxed chat! I am also very happy to do lessons online via webcam if that is easier for you. (Note: If you require me to travel outside of these two specific areas, my hourly rate will increase to cover my transport costs).
