About Mayra

Hello! My name is Mayra, and I am a native Spanish speaker currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Spanish. I truly enjoy the language and love seeing students become more comfortable and confident learning Spanish.

My goal is to create a supportive and relaxed environment where students can learn step by step without feeling intimidated. Over the years, I have interacted with people from and traveled to several Spanish-speaking countries, which has helped me understand the different expressions and slang used across regions.

Whether you need help with school Spanish, grammar, pronunciation, homework, or conversation practice, I would be happy to support you in your learning journey.

About the lesson

My approach as a tutor is to create a comfortable and supportive learning environment where students feel confident practicing Spanish. I believe that learning a language should be interactive and practical, so I combine conversation, vocabulary building, grammar explanations, and real-life examples to help students understand and use Spanish naturally.

A typical lesson begins with a short review of previous material, followed by practicing new vocabulary or grammar concepts. I like to include conversation practice, reading, and small exercises depending on the student’s goals. If the student is taking Spanish in school, we can also work on homework, prepare for exams, and review difficult topics together.

What sets me apart as a tutor is that I am a native Spanish speaker currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Spanish. I understand both the academic side of the language and the everyday way Spanish is used. I am also familiar with the different expressions and slang used across Spanish-speaking countries, and I understand that not all Spanish-speaking communities use the same words or expressions. This allows me to help students understand the language in a broader and more realistic way.

My lessons are ideal for middle school, high school, or college students, as well as adults who want to improve their Spanish for travel, conversation, or personal growth. Whether you need help with grammar, pronunciation, homework, or simply becoming more comfortable speaking Spanish, I will tailor the lessons to help you reach your goals.
