About Antonina
I’m Antonina, a native Russian speaker and an experienced language tutor with over three years of helping adult beginners from diverse backgrounds start their Russian learning journey. My passion is creating a friendly and supportive environment where students feel confident, comfortable making mistakes, and can learn at their own pace. Although I don’t hold a formal teaching degree, my professional background in interpretation and language services has given me a deep understanding of how to explain Russian grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary clearly and simply. I use a communicative approach that combines conversation practice with grammar explanations, listening exercises, and everyday phrases.

I have three years of experience teaching Russian as a volunteer tutor, helping adult learners from different backgrounds start their language journey from zero. My focus has always been on creating a supportive, friendly environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and progressing at their own pace. Although I don’t hold a formal teaching degree, my background in interpretation and language services has given me a deep understanding of how to explain Russian grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary in a simple, practical way. I use a communicative approach, combining conversation practice with grammar explanations, listening exercises, and everyday phrases. I also introduce students to Cyrillic gradually and clearly, so they can begin reading with confidence. My lessons are designed for real-life use: we focus on speaking from the very beginning, so students can apply what they learn in daily conversations, travel, or work situations. I adapt each lesson to the learner’s goals, level, and interests, and provide regular feedback and guidance to keep motivation high.
