About Elisa
I am currently studying International Affairs and Economics with a concentration in Latin America. I lived in Mexico City most of my life and it is by far my favorite city in the world! I was able to connect with several different international students through teaching Spanish, and it exposed me to an even bigger panorama of diversity than CDMX already offers. I love teaching the language and I think that learning new languages should be challenging, but always fun. My hobbies include geography, running, reading, and trying new restaurants!

Hi! My name is Elisa and I'm a 20 year-old Mexican student in the Washington D.C. area. I was born in Houston but grew up mostly in Mexico City. At 14, I started giving lessons teaching ESL to elementary-level students, and taught Spanish to international students between the ages of 6 and 18. While I have more experience working with children and teenagers, I am also very open to working with adults who would like to practice the Spanish language. My lesson plans vary greatly depending on the student's age and current level in the language, as well as the skills they would like to prioritize. Lessons can be anywhere from written grammatical exercises, playing typical board games in Spanish, mock interviews in the language, or simply cooking/drawing while having a normal conversation in Spanish. I'm very flexible with what we do each class, and while I enjoy structured classes, I don't want them all to feel the same. Feel free to reach out for more information!
