About Iris
I am a native Mandarin speaker with a strong multilingual background, having studied and lived in both the US and the UK. I have over three years of teaching experience and am known for being patient, friendly, and engaging in my lessons.
Having achieved IELTS 7.5, TOEFL 110 (with full marks in writing), and JLPT N1 in Japanese, I understand the challenges of language learning from a learner’s perspective. I studied Chinese literature during my undergraduate degree in the US, and my current background in Art History and Museum Studies allows me to bring cultural depth and critical thinking into my teaching.
I also have a strong interest in contemporary culture and can make lessons both insightful and enjoyable, helping students build confidence in both academic and everyday communication. Each lesson is carefully tailored to the individual needs and goals of my students, ensuring both effective progress and an engaging learning experience.
