About Rita
I am a native Mandarin speaker and current Biomedicine student at the University of Melbourne. I especially enjoy helping students learn Chinese for practical use, including daily conversation, listening, pronunciation, and real-life communication. My lessons are relaxed, engaging, and adapted to each student’s pace and goals.
I am a patient, attentive, and responsible person, and I genuinely enjoy working with people. Through my volunteer experience communicating regularly with children, I developed a warm, encouraging, and supportive teaching style. I am also very patient and understanding with adult learners, and I know how to explain things clearly and build confidence step by step.
I was awarded First Prize in the English Speech Competition, which reflects my strong communication skills and confidence in expressing ideas in both English and Chinese.
In addition, I have over 12 years of formal Chinese education, with Chinese consistently being my highest-scoring subject. I was often invited to assist teachers in explaining texts and essay writing techniques in class. I am particularly confident in teaching reading, writing, and Classical Chinese.
I am friendly, observant, and dedicated, and I always aim to help students feel comfortable, confident, and genuinely enjoy learning Chinese.
