Hello! My name is Elaine, and I’m a professional Mandarin tutor dedicated to helping students achieve their language goals with confidence and ease. As a native Mandarin speaker from Beijing, I offer a strong foundation in standard Mandarin pronunciation and authentic language use.

I hold a bachelor’s degree from Auckland University of Technology and a master’s degree from the University of Sydney, with eight years of academic experience in New Zealand and Australia. This international education has equipped me to communicate fluently in both Mandarin and English, ensuring clear explanations and effective learning for students from all backgrounds.

About the lesson

I’m a native Mandarin speaker from Beijing, known for its standard Mandarin pronunciation. I hold New Zealand citizenship and have spent eight years in New Zealand and Australia, where I completed my high school, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees at Auckland University of Technology and the University of Sydney. My international education allows me to communicate fluently with students in both Mandarin and English, ensuring a smooth and effective learning experience.

I focus on tailoring lessons to each student's needs, whether it’s conversational practice, grammar, vocabulary building, or cultural insights. My methodology emphasizes interactive learning, using real-life scenarios, multimedia tools, and engaging activities to make lessons enjoyable and effective. I encourage active participation and provide constructive feedback to help students build confidence and progress steadily.

A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, but I am flexible and can adjust the duration based on students’ preferences and schedules.

Having grown up in Beijing, I have been immersed in standard Mandarin since childhood. My bilingual background and international education experience equip me with the skills to teach students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

My lessons are suitable for students of all levels—from beginners to advanced learners—and all ages, including children, teenagers, and adults.
