About ZiYing
As a native Mandarin speaker from Malaysia and a medical student, I understand the value of clear communication, patience, and consistent practice. Mandarin has always been a part of my daily life, and I continue to read Chinese literature regularly because of my genuine love for the language.
My teaching style is centered around each student's individual goals. Instead of relying solely on textbook phrases, I help students learn how Mandarin is naturally spoken in real-life conversations. Whether you want to improve your speaking, listening, reading, or writing, I will adapt every lesson to suit your learning pace and interests.
I have experience tutoring my classmates during secondary school, which taught me how to explain concepts clearly and create a relaxed learning environment. I believe that language learning should be enjoyable rather than intimidating, so I encourage questions, celebrate progress, and make sure every student feels comfortable throughout the lesson.
Whether you're learning Mandarin for travel, work, or personal interest, I'm committed to helping you build confidence and enjoy the learning process every step of the way.

Mandarin
My lessons are completely student-centered because everyone learns differently. Rather than following a rigid textbook, I first ask how you would naturally express yourself in English. From there, I'll teach you how native Mandarin speakers would say the same thing in everyday conversations, helping you sound natural and confident instead of memorizing phrases that people rarely use.
There is no pressure to rush through the material. I believe good pronunciation takes time, so we'll practice together until you feel comfortable. Whether your goal is speaking, listening, reading, or writing, every lesson is tailored to your personal learning style and objectives.
Each lesson lasts up to one hour, with the option to extend to one and a half hours at no extra cost. You'll still pay just €10 per lesson, whether we finish in one hour or continue for the full ninety minutes. The lesson length depends entirely on your progress and what we are working on that day.
I teach beginners and intermediate learners of all ages. While I was in secondary school, I regularly tutored my classmates, which helped me develop patience and the ability to explain concepts clearly. As a native Mandarin speaker and a medical student who still enjoys reading Chinese literature every day, I have a genuine passion for the language and hope to share that passion with my students.
Most importantly, I want my lessons to be enjoyable. Learning a new language shouldn't feel intimidating or stressful. Come as you are, ask as many questions as you like, and let's have fun learning Mandarin together!
