About Jiayue
Hi, I am jiayue and I'm excited to help you on your journey to learning Mandarin. I've been teaching for 2 years and have worked with a wide range of students, from beginners to advanced learners. My approach to tutoring Mandarin is student-centred, focusing on practical communication skills while building a strong foundation in the language. I prioritize active participation, where students are encouraged to practice speaking from the start. Also, each lesson is tailored to the student's level, interests, and learning goals. I incorporate relevant vocabulary, cultural insights, and topics that resonate with the learner. Most importantly, understanding culture is key to language learning, so I weave Chinese customs, festivals, and traditions into my lessons to give context to the language. Lessons usually last 60 to 90 minutes, allowing time for warm-up, new material, practice, and review. I am native in Mandarin and have experience teaching a diverse range of students, from beginners to advanced learners. My lessons are for beginners(HSK 1) to advanced( HSK 6).
