About Tara

I am an at-home Irish speaker with a multilingual background. With my dad being a Gaeilgeoir himself, my siblings and I grew up speaking Irish with him. My mother is Bulgarian and speaks Bulgarian to us, so you'd expect my brain to be completely fried with all the confusion!

My entire primary school career was spent at the local Gaelscoil in Cavan, and stayed in close contact since - even helping out as a teaching assistant. (A fun fact! In 2010, my family was chosen to be on a series called 'Mamó' on RTÉ, which focused on Irish-speaking households - don't look it up please!!!)

I was very passionate about Irish in secondary school and I finished my Leaving Cert with a good grade, so I am well familiar with what is expected in the curriculum.

Now I am a graduate of Modern Languages at UCD majoring in German & Spanish (Irish wasn't an option unfortunately :/); however, I still continue to speak Irish in my day-to-day life, and still continue to be passionate!

About the lesson

I am more than happy to cater the lessons to the student's needs. Lessons can range from oral, written, and listening work to purely the basics of the language (grammar, spelling & vocabulary).
Happy to help out with both Primary and Secondary school levels.
Emergency homework & exam help are also available, even on short notice :)

Lessons can range from 30 mins to 2 hours - whatever is needed!
