About Isabelle
I’m a native German speaker from Vienna and have taught German at both college and university level, including as a Teaching Fellow in German at the University of Edinburgh.
I love helping people discover that learning German can be enjoyable and that they can actually use the language with confidence. I particularly enjoy seeing learners move from hesitating and worrying about mistakes to expressing themselves more naturally.
My teaching style is friendly, professional and encouraging. I want lessons to be a place where you feel comfortable speaking, trying things out, asking questions and making mistakes – because that’s how languages are learnt.

I’m a native German speaker from Vienna with experience teaching German at university and college level, including as a former Teaching Fellow in German at the University of Edinburgh.
I offer friendly, professional and encouraging online German lessons, from complete beginners to advanced learners. Lessons are tailored to you and can focus on speaking, listening, reading, pronunciation and vocabulary, with helpful corrections and explanations along the way.
Whether you’re learning for work, travel, family or simply for enjoyment, we’ll focus on German that is useful to you. I can also help if you specifically want to understand Austrian German, vocabulary and culture.
Theological German is another of my specialities, particularly for students, ministers, academics and anyone wanting to engage with German theological texts.
My aim is simple: to help you move from knowing German to actually using it with confidence.
