About Erich
Moin! I am a native German speaker with a rich blend of life, professional, and practical experience. I grew up in Germany and completed a traditional apprenticeship as a machinery fitter (Maschinenschlosser) before transitioning into a successful, decades-long career as a B2B sales professional for industrial equipment. After 30 years in Germany, I emigrated to Australia, where I have spent the last 30 years working in technical sales, marrying my wonderful wife, and raising three children.
With two of my kids grown up and flown the nest, and one still at home, I love dedicating my weekend time to my varied passions. I am a massive animal lover—sharing my home with three dogs and two cats—and I love spending time outdoors. My mind is always active; I like to read, I am fascinated by everything EV-related (we have 2 EVs at home), astronomy, quantum physics, and international politics. On the practical side, I love traveling abroad to experience new cultures, and I am highly hands-on, having completed extensive home renovations.
I bring this diverse range of interests into our German conversation sessions. Whether you want to discuss global politics, dive into the future of electric vehicles, talk about your pets, or simply practice casual everyday chats, my background means we will never run out of engaging, real-world topics to discuss!
