About Alicia

Hi! My name is Alicia, and I'm a native French speaker currently studying at the University of Ottawa. I’ve always loved languages, literature, and helping others learn, which is why I enjoy sharing my passion for French with students from elementary school to high school.

Being fluent in both French and English, I can easily support English-speaking students who are learning French, whether they need help with homework, grammar, writing, reading comprehension, conversation practice, or exam preparation.

My approach is patient, encouraging, and tailored to each student's goals and learning style. I believe that learning a language should feel rewarding and enjoyable, not stressful. Whether you're looking to improve your grades, build confidence in speaking French, or simply practice with a native speaker, I’d be happy to help!

About the lesson

Every student learns differently, which is why I adapt each lesson to their individual needs, learning pace, and school curriculum. My goal is to help students feel more confident in French while making learning engaging and enjoyable.

I work with elementary, middle school, and high school students who need support with French Immersion, French as a Second Language (FSL), homework, grammar, reading, writing, pronunciation, or exam preparation.

A typical lesson begins by identifying what the student needs most. Together, we'll review difficult concepts, practice through interactive exercises, and apply what we've learned using conversation, reading, or writing activities. I also help students develop effective study habits so they become more independent and confident over time.

As a native French speaker and a Psychology student at the University of Ottawa, I believe patience, encouragement, and positive reinforcement are essential for successful learning. My aim is not only to improve grades but also to help students enjoy learning French and feel proud of their progress.
