About Robert Desmarais
Growing up in a bilingual family, I have completed all course work and written doctoral examinations for the doctorate in French literature at Tulane University. Though illness prevented me from completing the dissertation, the University awarded me the Masters. I have a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New Orleans also. After 40 years of teaching French, German, Latin and English as a Second Language in high schools, colleges and private language schools of New Orleans, I retired. I miss teaching and look forward to assisting people to learn the French languate I love.

Starting with greetings, the dialogues move to personal details, family matters, community settings and issues, national and international affairs, even philosophy, religion and politics. At first, sentences are simple, and tenses and moods and other complexities are presented in sentences as they are needed in the developing dialogue. Repetition of the dialogues encourages memorization. Writing the dialogues and letters helps apply the language of the dialogues to the written word.
