About Gabriela
As said before, I am a native English speaker and I have over a decade of experience in Spanish, but that's not all-- I have dedicated my life to learning how to teach languages, and I admire that you are learning a new language!
I am pursuing a Bachelors degree in Spanish with a Teaching license and a TESOL certificate. I have a 3.95 GPA at USU and have two published projects in the USU Digital Commons.
I am currently a student, so if you are too, I get what you're going through! Whatever the reason you want to learn a language with me, I will adjust our tutoring session to fit your learning goals. Because of my education and training, I have a variety of activities and tasks we can do to help you learn to speak English or Spanish.
Lessons with me can be as fun or serious as you want, I really want to help you have the experience you are looking for.

I am currently a student at Utah State University, I'm studying Spanish Education and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). I'm a native English Speaker and have spoken Spanish for over 14 years!
I teach with the communicative approach: the idea is that language should be used, not just studied, so we will practice actually communicating in the language. This helps with grammar, vocabulary, sentence formation, reading, writing, speaking, and listening. We do this through completing tasks that you would actually encounter in real life.
A typical lesson will have us reviewing some of the grammar and vocab needed to do that task. Because we're 1 on 1 I am there to practice with and answer any questions.
Classes can be for kids as young as 5 through seniors in high school, and adults. Classes are for ESL students, people wanting to improve communication skills or people who want to learn a new language for work, school, or fun!
I am passionate about language learning and love the cultural aspect of it as well-- I look forward to getting to know you!
