About Kat
Hello everyone! I'm Kat, your English tutor from New Zealand, I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and I am currently teaching English as part of a volunteer community project in Vidigal. I have a degree in Education; Bachelor of Teaching and Learning and I am currently studying towards a Diploma in TEFL. I believe that learning should be fun, no matter your age, and I'm excited to share this journey with you!

Whether you want to improve your English for everyday conversations, work, or even to surprise someone special, I’m here to help! During our first session, we’ll chat about what you want to learn and identify areas for improvement. I practice a learner-focused approach, which means we'll have a lot of engagement and the materials I use will be to support your learning, rather than the whole focus of your learning. In New Zealand we have an approach in teaching and learning called "Ako" this is reciprocal-based learning — we believe it's all about learning together.
