About Catherine
My name is Catherine or Qianqian. I was born and raised in Beijing, China, until I was 12. Then I went to Montreal, Canada, to continue my studies. I am currently a Masters's student in Human Genetics at McGill. I did a minor in Chinese Literature and Language Studies during my undergraduate degree. As a native speaker, I often have to help my classmates with the materials. This inspires me that I could use my language skills to become a Chinese tutor.

I believe lessons should be customized according to students' needs. I believe the best way to start learning a language is by speaking. Also, I believe that if you want to learn a language, the culture behind it is equally valuable. Hence in my lessons, I would integrate Chinese traditional culture, art forms, etc.
A typical lesson would start with casual conversations as this is the most valuable part of a language. Then we would proceed to read a book in the student's interest. There will be one weekly writing assignment.
