About Avalon
I am a classically trained singer and violinist with a Bachelor’s Degree in Classical Voice and Opera Studies majoring in Performance. During my university studies, I received training in music theory, aural skills, composition and arrangement, giving me a strong and well-rounded foundation in musicianship.
I am also a qualified AMEB teacher and achieved a High Distinction in my Grade 5 AMEB examination. As a musician and teacher, I love helping students develop their understanding of music and gain confidence in their abilities.
I believe music theory should be approachable and meaningful, and I enjoy finding ways to explain concepts so they genuinely make sense to each individual student.

Learn Music Theory with a Classically Trained Musician
My music theory lessons are personalised to your level, goals and learning style. Whether you are a complete beginner, preparing for an AMEB examination, studying music at school or university, or simply want to understand music more deeply, I can help.
Lessons will cover music notation, scales, keys, intervals, chords, harmony, rhythm, musical analysis, aural skills, composition and arrangement. I focus on making theory clear and practical, helping you understand not just the rules, but how and why they work in real music.
We can work through specific areas you find challenging, prepare for assessments and exams, or build your knowledge from the ground up at a comfortable pace.
