About LINDA
Greetings! My name is Linda Kramer, and I live in Ontario, Canada. Music is my life, and always has been. I am passionate about music in general, and I love teaching and performing music. I presently hold an Honors Bachelor of Music from Humber College in Jazz Piano Performance, RCM Level 10 Piano, RCM Level 6 Voice, currently working towards an ARCT in Piano Performance from The Royal Conservatory of Music. While at Humber, some of my private teachers were George McFetridge, Art Maiste, Hugh Fraser. I am an RCM Certified Teacher, teaching all levels from Beginner to Advanced Piano, and Specialist for teaching Elementary and Intermediate Piano. I also have extensive Voice training through Humber College, and The Royal Conservatory of Music. Voice teachers have included Martin Spencer (Canadian Opera Company), and Marie Alexander, who sang for the Queen of England, and received the Order of Canada. Some of my performances have included playing for many musicals at the Capitol Theatre in Port Hope, for a number of years. In addition, I have performed with well-known jazz trumpeter, Guido Basso. I am in my 9th year as Music Director of Rural Faith United Church, near Cobourg. I have taught Piano, Voice and Theory, for over 25 years, and presently teach from my private music studio in Port Hope. Music and teaching has always been my passion..and still is !

My teaching philosophy centers on nurturing a genuine love and enjoyment of music in my students. I aim to inspire musicality and passion, ensuring lessons are engaging, and most of all, fun! I offer Piano and Voice lessons to students of all ages, from beginners to advanced levels, and emphasize a fun and fulfilling learning experience! Piano lessons can include RCM classical curriculum, or Jazz, Latin, and Pop music. My background in Jazz Piano from Humber College enhances my playing style, as well as my approach to teaching. Solid technique is encouraged and utilized, in a variety of different ways. For Voice students, the importance of effective breathing and singing techniques are utilized. These are taught through breathing and vocal exercises, vocalises, and various engaging, fun pieces. Students are encouraged to study RCM repertoire, and / or Musical Theatre. Other styles can also be studied, such as jazz, gospel, and pop music. My ultimate goal is to make the musical journey rewarding and enjoyable.. with a commitment to excellence. The most rewarding musical experience comes from a desire within, to create beautiful and unique music.! ♫ I really believe that the potential to create music is in EACH and EVERY person. It is my desire to inspire students to draw on that creativity from within. Even if it is small, creativity can ALWAYS be developed. Music can ALWAYS be learned, relearned, improved !!
